Inpatient Behavioral Health
For patients who need a higher level of care, Waterbury HEALTH offers inpatient behavioral health services to treat acute and long-term psychiatric and behavioral disorders. No matter what issues you or your loved one might be going through, our inpatient program takes into account the unique needs and mental state of each individual within a responsive and supportive therapeutic environment.
Common conditions that may require inpatient services include:
- Major depression
- Suicidal intentions
- Substance abuse
- Bipolar disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Schizoaffective disorder
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Cognitive impairment with behavioral disturbances
Our main goal is to stabilize the patient’s symptoms by providing 24-hour monitoring, medication support, group, and milieu therapies. After stabilizing the acute illness, we help transition individuals to an appropriate outpatient program or facility for continued treatment. Our expert team consists of board-certified psychiatrists, advanced practice registered nurses, registered nurses, occupational and activity therapists, and other mental health professionals.
