Dr. Anna P. Ziganshina, MD is board certified in internal medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
Dr. Ziganshina received her medical degree from Kazan State Medical University in Kazan, Russia before moving to the United States and completing her residency training in internal medicine at Danbury Hospital/Western Connecticut Health Network in Danbury, CT. She also completed a clinical endocrinology fellowship at the Albany Medical College Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in Albany, NY.
Dr. Ziganshina is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, and Great Lakes Society of Diabetes and Endocrinology.
In addition to the English language, Dr. Ziganshina is fluent in her native Russian and Tatar languages and can also converse in Spanish.
Dr. Ziganshina is very passionate about the endocrinology field. Her particular interests include diabetes, neuroendocrinology (specifically pituitary tumors), hyperlipidemia, osteoporosis, thyroid cancer, and other thyroid conditions, and she has an expertise in ultrasound-guided thyroid biopsies.“Talking to patients, getting to know their stories, caring for them, and helping them live healthier lives is the favorite and most rewarding part of my work”, stated Dr. Ziganshina. “It is important for me to treat patients as a whole, embracing their diversity, lifestyle, religious, and cultural beliefs”.
In her spare time, Dr. Ziganshina enjoys spending time with her husband and two children exploring local parks, farms, and soccer fields.
