Waterbury Hospital is participating in an investigative study that may ultimately help women with dense breasts avoid biopsies and unnecessary treatment. Normally women who have received a suspicious mammogram will undergo a biopsy that more accurately determines if there is cancer present. For women with dense breasts, detection is more difficult.
